Joseph Pilates developed the basis for his method of exercise during his internment in the UK during WW1.
Initially, the Pilates method was the secret weapon of the dancer’s world, but the exercise industry has evolved to realise that physical development and improvement truly depends on a strong centre that is achieved through abdominal muscles and back and shoulder stabilisation. This not only improves coordination, flexibility, and posture, but also promotes the feeling of well-being.
